Brake lines - 01/13/10 12:47 AM

A year ago we upgraded my 75 Cordoba to the 2-bolt master cylinder and booster from a 79. The car stops safely but I've always felt it could be a little better. The Car Craft I just got in the mail perfectly desribes the way my brakes operate BUT they're talking about a brand-X master cylinder. Apparently they had inadevertantly reversed the brake lines. When I swapped the master cylinder I routed the lines the way they had been - the back section (closest to the booster/firewall) leading to the front brakes and vice-versa.

My question is when they changed the design of the master cylinder did they switch the brake line connections?

you mean when they went to a 2 bolt M/C? Yes they are still the same line routing (closest to firewall to front discs). You might switch to some more aggressive front pads to give you more grab and do you know what the M/C bore dia is?

It's supposed to be 1 and 1/32.

If I am not mistaken that sounds like the size piston used on a power brake MC. Manual disc brake MC uses a 7/8bore. Do you a have power or manual brake setup?
