"Best" 440 Oil Pan gaskets? - 01/01/10 02:33 AM

Doing "stock" resto on 1970 440 Sixpack . What pan gaskets should I be using (using windage tray of course). Fel-Pro cork/rubber ? or the blue Fel-Pro rubber/steel ? What's the best sealer all you pros use? purple high tack? , silicone or "?" Thank you for continued help on my project It's been 30+ years since I've gone this "deep" into a motor project and I'd like to get it right the first time . Happy New Year to all in Moparland!

I used the gaskets that came with the MP windage tray. They haev been on for 10 years and I carry 70 to 80 PSI.I didnt use the tray I used the Milidon tray. Those gaskets suprised me they sealed so good.I use 3M weather strip adhesive to attach them to the tray when I install it under the car.Other than that my gaskets go on dry.Silicone and cork dont mix.Rocky

Thanks for the support Bill

kidmopar, I offer a premium pan gasket for the 440 that is stick resistant, does not wick oil and will maintain the bolt torque on low bolt torque applications.

These gaskets Do Not require any sealers if you have good sealing surfaces on your tin (oil pan).
If you wish to attach the gaskets to your windage tray then I recommend gasket shellack or gask-a-sinch.

They can be ordered through members here on the board.
