Fuel Pump to Carb line for 383...

I'm seeing in the parts catalogs that the pump to carb line for a 1970 383 with Carter AVS is a 1 piece line and the 440 is a 2 piece line. I'm familiar with how the 2 piece allows for the vapor separator filter to be placed between the two lines. So how is the 1 piece line of the 383 setup for filter?

440 has a short J shaped line attached to the fuel pump which has an female inverted flare fitting.. 383 has a hose nipple on the fuel pump
