Re: Installing one piece trunk floor w quarters on? - 12/22/0905:37 AM
I don't recall who posted about it & FWIW I was highly skeptical but after looking it over I think it may be possible to slide the new trunk floor in from below the tail light panel & over the rear frame member... You would need to remove the complete old trunk including the lip that folds up & mates with the tail light panel, clean the frame rails & the flanges that mate to the trunk extensions & wheel houses...

Can't go in through the trunk opening.
I've seen guys either cut the taillight panel out or cut a slot behind where the bumper goes. (kinda hard to describe, but it slides right in.)
Honestly if your doing that much cutting and welding how hard is it gonna be to do a two piece and weld up the seam in the center? The gas tank hides it underneath anyway.

i saw a post some time ago where a guy removed most of the rear frame member and slid it in that way, that way you get the wrapping up over the taillight panel ,as it is original style.i think he cut the rear frame member on the outside of the fjäderhänkena(rear sprin mounts)behind the bumper.there was pictures to,look for it though i think it was on a E-body.

Support the heck out of everything. I know a guy that got his Falcon convertible back from the shop with a sag so bad the doors wouldn't open without a fight.
