Check with DR. Diff here on the board. He should have what you need.

Dr Diff will definitely have the components...Hi Steve ! ...I did'nt move the springs when I did that swap...Just the rear perches...Still had plenty of room for a 10 inch rim... Here's a pic of an E-body rear in a B-body...This is a 10 inch rim with a Mickey Thompson 28x12 tire...

Why not just cut the perches off and reweld them in the right location?

Well, for A, not everybody has a torch and a welder and B, you might want to put it back to stock someday.

I dont want to distort the original factory perches of an e body rear to have them fit a 71 b-body because the rear is a "loner" until it can go into my challenger in a few years. So just trying to see if there is any kit available or if im going to have to work with what i got.

Thanks,

Steve

It is a very simple matter to remove the perches and fit new ones in the right location.

Chances are the factory never put them in exactly the right location anyway.

By fitting new perches you can get the axle centered under the car (something Chrysler was not very good at) and also make any pinion angle adjustments needed.

Thanks for the tips. When removing the perches and putting new ones on should this be done by a shop, or can i do this? I'd really hate to have to pay someone else but if its need i will.

Anyone have any tips for doing this?

Cut the old perches off.

Fit the axle with the new perches in place. But just bolted together. The U-bolts will hold the axle in place.

Center the axle under the car. Check the axle end play is adjusted correctly first.

Once centered check your pinion angles. Get the angle the same at the rear UJ as it is at the trans end. You need sommething more that 1.5 degrees and less than 3 degrees (see drawing). Then drop the pinion slightly from that setting. How much you drop it is subject to debate as it depends on how much your pinion rises under load.

Once you have everything lined up just tack weld the perches in place so they stay put.

Now if you can weld OK you can just weld the perches on right there. If you would rather have someone do it for you might have to remove the axle and get it done somewhere.

Just make sure you understand that the UJ angles are the angle of the driveshaft in relation to the angle of the trans and the pinion.

These are not the same as the angles in relation to gravity or the ground.

You can use the oil pan to get the angle of the trans and the end of the pinion or the area the pinion snubber mounts to for the angle at that end in relation to the driveshaft.
