1978 Dodge Magnum Headers? - 12/09/09 05:22 AM

Hi guys,

I have a 78 Magnum with a 400. Its a column shift car as well. Does anyone know what header options I have for it?

Thanks

Cam

Way back when I used a set of B-Body headers. They do interfere with the automatic "z bar". Easy to mod the bar (horseshoe it) to clear the header collector.

Here's what it looked like back in the '80's with transplanted '69 440.

The Hedman shorty headers might be a good choice.

Years ago I tried a set of Hedman (IIRC) B-body longtubes (they listed as being for 75 Cordoba) on a 77 Cordoba and it was a 3-day nightmare.

Never got them fully installed and I aborted the project.

The Hedman shortys are A1, especially for the price!

Hedman shorties seem to be the header of choice.

Also, I believe Summit makes the "U" that you need to move your shifter linkage.

There was a couple GT's for sale in Alberta last spring on Craigslist. Also, a yard in Bonnieville? had a GT w/E58 and t's. I could've gotten it for $100 but it was about $3000 to ship it to me!!!
