SSBC rear caliper '70 Challenger stock bearings?

Anyone else use the stock bearings in a 8.75 rear end with a SSBC disc brake kit?

The locking pawl is now on top of the bracket which makes it ineffective. The guy who installed the kit originally did it wrong, and the axle nut spun out. I am reinstalling it and want to get it right.

I guess I will bend it to make it work. Anyone else go through this?

Also, anyone have any installation instructions they wouldn't mind scanning? I bought the car this way and the old owner is no help.
