'63 Dodge 880....C Body?

Just curious...I'm kinda fuzzy on some of the early '60's cars. Is a '63 880 a B or C body? There's been a big old 4 door version in one of the local 'yards for about the last month or so.

Since it was 1/2 price weekend, I grabbed the 8 3/4 shock plates ($4.. ) & oil pan ($8.50... ) from the 361. Wasn't much else to choose from; it's a rusted hulk.

Anyway, I'm assuming it's a C?

Not my area of expertise, but I'm pretty sure they're C bodies; they're certainly big enough...

Yes, its a c body. Would you be interested in selling the oil pan? Alex

Keeping the pan.

The car looked a LOT like this one, only not as nice:

it actually isn't a c, but full size car. c-bodies didn't start till 65.
So even though it is bigger, a few things were more b-body then c-body.
Like some of the front end apparently was compatible.

If the kickdown linkage was there, it is an adjustible setup that lets you run a 4bbl or 2bbl with the same setup.

I have to second what Andrewh posted.

"C Body" cars started in '65 when they started to use bolt on front sub/stub frames to the uni-body.

63 Dodge 880 was basically a 62 Chrysler with different front fenders and grill.

My Neighbor had a really nice one that he couldn't get the rear drums off to do a brake job (nutted axles).

Guess what? E-body rears are the exact same perch to perch and drum to drum as these cars. I just happened to have an extra housing in the back yard and it bolted in!

All the full size unibody cars have a removable stub frame back to 1960.

"NOT" a C body as Andrew previously mentioned. One of my biggest pet peeves, '65 to '74 its a C, unless its an Imperial, otherwise it is not.
