Multi carb intakes - 11/17/09 01:58 AM

I got some multi carb intakes questions, like whats available? Do they make a inline 2x4 intake for 383/400 and how about a crossram for the same? Can you get a crossram to fit standard 440 heads (440 block) or are they just for Max Wedge heads? How about crossram fitting aftermarket alumninum heads on b or rb blocks? Sorry for all the ?'s. Thanks.

I have a brand new 273/318 Offy intake that will go on my 360. Id like an Edelbrock D66 version but even theirs is for the 273- not to mention they have been out of production for over 30 years. Talking inline underhood dualquads the Edelbrock intake for the RB mopars is fantastic. (I had 2 440s with that setup) For the low deck the Offenhauser is available but I wonder if an iron OEM 383 dual quad manifold would work better. I was really disappointed at the results from the dual quad on the 383 that Dulcich tested a couple years ago. The setup was rather flat everywhere- outgunned by every other single carb combo.

Yes the low decks don't have the best selection of dual quad intakes. Basically your choices are a OEM early 60's cast iron dual quad intake or the dual quad offy. Neither look like there were designed for flow. At least the CH-28 intake for the 440 will flow decent, but the low deck version of the performer RPM intake or holley street dominator would blow either of those low deck dual quad intakes right out of the water.

Thats a good deal on the in-line set up.Virtually plug-n-play.

A AND A transmission makes a cross ram for the stock heads on a rb that is for the max wedge ports , they are un-machined for the stock aplication. you might be able to find a old eddy cross ram for the b block but theyve been going for a good chunk of change. Im running a 500 stroker with eddy victor max wedge aluminium heads and a stage 2 max wedge intake and 2 holley 600s so far it seems to be a good set-up but im still in the working the bugs out faze and havnt taken it out yet.
