Rear Lower Shock Flops Around Where It Bolts To Housing - 10/11/09 06:14 AM

My 98 Grand Cherokee rear lower shocks flop around on the 2 lower bolts on each side.I am speaking of the part where the shocks mount on the rear end housing, and where the bolt goes through to attach the shock. The rear shocks are only a year old, bolts are tight and the bushings are good. Anyways, the noise drives me nuts, and when I'm underneath it and push up on the undercarriage, you can see it plain as day the lower part of the shock jumps around the bolt. What can I do about this? Go to a bigger diameter bolt? Appreciate any help. Thanks

Or a smaller-diameter bushing.

Could you have been sold the wrong shocks?

Do the shocks have poly bushings? Did you get the metal sleeve to insert into them that the bolt slid into?

What kind of shocks are they, I recently changed mine on my 98 GCL to KYB gas adjusts'. They fit tight and ride great..Are your bushing washers there?
