B&M flexplate for Magnum 360?? - 09/24/09 02:47 AM

Help me out guys, according to jegs, B&M doesn't make a flexplate for the magnum engine, but i'm wanting to make it so i can run a "N" balanced converter (no weights), it'll be going behind a 904 tranny, can i just use the B&M flexplate for the LA 360 & 904??

Why not use the factory magnum flexplate with the weights on it? No you cannot use the LA B&M flexplate.

I have one for the 727,but am not aware of it for the 904.
Theoretically you could just slot a hole in it and make it work for the 904.

Application: ‘93-’99 Chrysler 360 w/TF727 Externally Balanced Dual Bolt Pattern (10" & 11-1/8")
Item# 10242

that is the part number for the 727 flexplate for magnum....check the bolt circle on your 904 converter...if it is same as the 727 ...dont see why it would not fit...

magnum are externally balanced but not the same as LA 360s due to the lighter pistons and rods...
magnum use less weight on converter and BALANCER...

I couldn't find any weights on the magnum flexplate, am i missing something, its a 95 model.

I've heard about longating one of the holes for the 904, does it matter which hole?

So i should be able to longate one of the holes on the B&M flexplate for the magnum 727, like i would have to do on the factory magnum flexplate right! Would this make sence? But if its for the 727, wouldn't the 904 converter bolt patterns be the same?

Some years they had the weight on the flexplate.Maybe 96up? You can gently slot the hole in the flexplate to work with the early style converters.Just put the flexplate/converter on the bench and you will find 1 hole needs a little adjustment.

So, would anyone happen to have a flexplate with the weights they would let go cheap

I sent a b&m back to summit because I thought I could just take the weights off and put it on the balancer to check it. No weights, had a big crescent moon shaped piece cut out instead of adding weight on the other side. So, it was setup for external balance. I'm still efi and plan on running a 5.2 flexplate with the crank position sensor windows on the outside edge.
Not sure if this helps you or not. Good luck.

So, does the 904 & 727 converters have the same bolt pattern?? If so, don't see why the 10242 B&M Magnum 727 flexplate wouldn't work.

I called B&M, they HAD a 10241 flexplate for the 360 magnum with 904, but its been discontinued.

I have one that I slotted the hole on. If you want it let me know. I changed to an LA motor instead. PM me if you are interested.

THis place still shows them as blowing them out.

If you do a search on 10241 flexplates you might find others that have leftover stocks.
