Who can tell me about 70 383 air grabbers? - 09/23/09 11:04 PM

I have seen some with a round air cleaner and some with an oval shaped air cleaner assembly for the 4-brl engines. Specifically the 70 RR and GTX cars with the 383/440. Why is that? Thanks Guys if you can enlighten me.

I believe its round for 383,4 barrel,and oval for 440-6 packs.

1969 air cleaners are the only single 4bbl ones that used the oval lid.

yes the one 70coronet shows is for 70 383/440 4bbl,i've been looking for some time for one,hard to come by,most i see are fiberglass repops,let me know if you come across one please

the oval ones on a 440 hit the scoop door when closing,i think thats why i need the round lid type
