Im ready to drop the Tranny on my Fury wagon. Whose brilliant idea was it to put the oil filter in front of one of the bolts I have to remove to drop the tranny. As youve guessed this is a Small block powered vehicle.

Not that big of a deal, but wonder where this design came from and why was it done this way? What were they thinking,or was this a pure accident?

Try to drop the trans in a '73-up B-body without unwinding the torsion bars and you'll appreciate that filter. DAMHIK!!

Or, have you every tried to take off a big block water pump housing? Who ever thought puttung a bolt behind a heater hose nipple was a good idea needs to be smacked upside the head.

It was designed that way to make people ask more stupid questions.

Dad had a '66 Ambassador, you had to cut a hole in the floor to get to the starter bolts, and a '76 boneville, that the FSM said to either remover the inner fender or cut hole in it to RR the blower motor.
