thanks guys. yeah i already have the motor. i'm going to pull it this winter to fix a rearmain leak. the motor is zero deck(.005 below) stock crank and rods with kb162. being zero deck already does that have a negative effect on the stroke. i will call 440 source later. i'm looking for some insight/ experience outside of a supplier. would like to use the same block, intake and heads cut to already. only one season on it so bore clean up should be easy.

it's .005 i just say zero because thats easier. i used the kbs with 452 heads. later changed to eddy performer closed chamber, cut the heads to get my cr up. thats why i want to use the same block, heads and intake. 440 source list it at .025 in the hole, i guess thats on a stock/uncut block. thinking i will end up about the same as now so maybe my cr and piston to valve will not change.

I am building a 431 right now as a street motor. Cut down 440 steel crank with ly rods (6.76)and Ross pistons.Bobweight is 220 grams heavier than my 440 Source kit 470 kit but still very light.Depending on your choice of con rods some builds will needs oil ring support rails for the piston oil ring.Deck height should be ok as long as it isn't less than 9.980. Build it

Unless you go with a dished piston with the stroker kit, the extra stroke will cause your compression ratio to go up.

the block is .030 over. looking at 440 source if i go with them the rods are part of the kit. do you think my cr will be over 11-1? is that static or dynamic? i can live with 11-1 with alum heads.
