steering shaft to box coupler seal retainer install

Hi, I am trying to install the seal retainer for the steering box coupler. I just cant get the thing to clamp on to the coupler. Any tips?

I tried to refer someone to the link only to find out the longer clamp is sold out now I tried and tried to get a good result with the retainer. even two people, one with LARGE arc joint pliers and the other with a hammer and punch. No luck. I had to resort to the clamp, it was great! hope it gets reproduced again.

The short one is availible in limited supply as I understand.

I`m the person with the clamps. I may be getting about a half dozen or so of the longer clamps from another vender that has had them sitting on his shelf for years. I`ll know in another week or so. I have just a little over 2 dozen of the short clamps left. I also have approached a few of the bigger venders who reproduce parts about reproducting them again. So far I haven`t had any favorable responses. So far everyone that has purchased these clamps has loved them.
