Look at the Dampner, a thick one is usualy a cast crank and the thinner one is forged.

Way MORE than likely a forged crank ..

Any other usable parts on it .. like a frig, roof air...etc ?

Don't they usually have the more desirable lower gear sets in the trans?

I have heard RUMORS that some truck/motorhome chassis were equipped with a trans that had a 2.77 gear set .. but I have never seen one like that.

MOST motorhomes were WAY over-geared to start off with. Some Class A's having as much as a 4.88 ..some even with a 5.12.

Last two 440 I bought out of Titan MH's were cast crank motors.

I've pulled a few '74 MH 440's over the years (just tore one down last week..) and they all had forged cranks & the heavy six-pack type rods. Some even came with a windage tray.

Yep, a friend scored one of those, HP rods, windage tray and double chain.

Compression ratio will be about 7.5-1 measured.

213 heads. Comp ratio? Are you going to calculate? I'll say 7.8

My 75 Motor home motor I picked up had 452's too and a cast crank. It was cheap and the top end was fresh & ran great...
