32RE? Ain't no such thing.

If it's a 32RH the lockup is controlled by the lockup valve spring.

It is a 32RH, the transmission itself shifts smooth, but sometimes the Converter doesn't lock up and it runs at a higher rpm.Can the spring or the valve be changed by itself to cure the problem?

I thought the TBI/MPI 998's (32RH) lockup were controlled by a solenoid

42 re the old 904 with overdrive

the lock-up solenoid / od solenoid / govenor pressure sensor/ solenoid all attached to the valve body.

is there a check engine lite on / codes.

There is a solenoid but it's only used to unlock the converter under certain throttle conditions, lockup is strictly a hydraulic function.
