What does an 84 truck 318 weigh?

I put the 318 from my 84 4x2 RC on a motor stand tonight and it deflected more than I was comfortable with. I cant find any place that has a weight for the motor. Anybody know? Thanks!

yeah; those Harbor Freight, Advance Auto type stands do flex alot; I dont trust their claimed weight ratings. I have a HEAVY older one that (I think) used to belong to a school at one point (garage sale find) and this thing does not flex one bit with my 318 on it; I had a cheap one that I gave to my brother; he has a 4 cyl flathead Jeep he's restoring; I would not put much more than that on some of the stands sold these days.

IIRC a SB weighs ~450-500 or so. More if A/C comp, brackets PS pump alternator etc are still attatched.

Did the entire stand flex or did the motor just sag when you bolted it on?

The motor sagged. I rolled it into the garage from the driveway where I had transfered it from a crane to the stand, after cleaning it. The bouncing from the seams in the driveway just made it look like it was drooping more than I had expected.
