How do I reset the brake light? - 07/01/08 06:04 PM
on a 1993 Dakota?
It has rear abs, I have pulled the battery cable, and its still comes back on.
Abs works, the brakes are bled....and work fine.
it all started when I blew a wheel cylinder

bump.... I can get it to go out for a short while......but as soon as I "back" out of the drive it comes on.
I shut it off in the street, and started it back up, and it never came on again, until I went into reverse...:(

Since the problem started when the wheel cylinder failed, I would suspect the pressure differential switch in the combination valve.

Try hitting the brakes hard while stopped. It might recenter the warning switch.

I think the sensor on the top of the rear diff is prone to failing.

Not sure about a Mopar but on my daughters 98 Lumina, pulling all the fuses for ABS/Brakes and pushing the brake pedal a few times and waiting a few minutes worked every time. Seems there is residual power you have to drain to reset the idiot lights. Unhooking battery might do the same as pulling fuses but for me with the battery buried pulling fuses was easier.
