Jeep Techs HELP - 08/08/09 11:25 PM

2005 Grand Cherokee Limited AWD 49000miles. It started shuttering when turning the wheels Like a 4WD truck will do on a tight turn. But it only does it after it has been driven a while then cools off & will only do it until it warms up again. So far Tech has replaced front & rear drive shafts Taken transfer case apart to inspect for worn parts & flushed out the PS pump & rack.I still think it is Transfer case related could something be worn but not appear to be visually.Checked the front end its tight said CV joints were OK.Anyone have any ideas
Thanks
Sal

Sal any chance you have new tires in the front and worn tires in the rear? This would make your transfer case work extra hard. Are using the right Mopar fluid? Also not common in Jeeps but your posi rear could be chattering.

All that is good info. Do you have quadadrive on the jeep?

Tires are the original ones all inflated correctly
Noise is not a rear end chatter.Any other suggestions

If it is awd I would guess that the viscous coupler in the transfer case is bad or the transfer case has the wrong fluid in it

Recommended lubricant for the NV140 transfer case is MoparŪ ATF+4, Automatic Transmission Fluid. Recommended lubricant for the NV245 transfer case is MoparŪ NV245/247 Transfer Case Fluid. Recommended at 30k miles.
