Determining Correct Pushrod length - 06/28/08 06:23 PM

I am trying to order the correct pushrods for my 440. 440 source heads, Comp Cams pro magnum rockers, Engle K-60 hydrualic cam, Engle lifters.
Here is what I am doing is this right or wrong? 1-Put the cam on the base of the lobe. 2-Set the rocker adjuster to 1 1/2 threads showing. 3- Lengthen the adjustable pushrod until there is no movement and no collape of the lifter (the lifters are dry). 4-Measure the pushrod and add .030 to the length for preload. This is my first time doing this so any help/advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I would say 0-1/2 thread showing than that leaves you with another 1/2 for lifter preload.1 thread total when done should be max showing.

O.K., so only 0-1/2 thread showing. Does everything else sound alright?

base circle cam,0 to 1/2 thread, extend pushrod.do not colapse lifter and do not add .030.When you adjust you will have close to 1 thread showing.Lifter preload is 1/4-1/2 turn from zero.

Thanks, does 9.105 sound good? Cause that's what I come up with.
