The color is orange.. I have a mint nib nos 72 grill... What color orange i am not sure..

For '72 the grilles were available in six of the body colors, it that what you mean?

I am talking about the recessed part about a inch wide. on both sides.Behind the chrome trim.

It's orange. The closest I could get on the color was Chevy Orange. I believe it was Plasticoat brand, I got it from O'Reilly's.
