Cuda electrical ? - 07/15/09 09:56 PM

I have a 70 Cuda that I have installed Power windows, electric fan, electric fuel pump, radio with nav system, twin pump air ride suspension and cruise control. All of these require a hook-up to the IG switch. I have installed a gang channel in the drivers side kick panel area so that I can run individual wires to each load but I'm not sure where the beat place is to pick up the power. Any suggestions?

Off a relay powered straight from the battery. Hook the coil of the relay to any switched 12V source on the car. That way the load doesn't go through the bulk head connector which was not built to handle that kind of load,

With all that added stuff you probably want a "continuous duty solenoid" Any good parts store/ marine/ motorhome joint will have them.

Before you start hooking those kinds of loads up to your factory wiring, you may want to read the articles found here.
