E-body rear shocks - 07/02/09 03:01 AM

I have a 70 Challenger that I want to put some good shocks in It is sitting a little low in the rear, and I want to bring it up a little. It has new springs already and has a dana rear if that matters. What are the best shocks to use?

Other than air shocks, I don't think new shocks are going to help you raise the rear of the car.

What kind of leafs do you currently have on the car?

I threw on a pair of used MP XHD springs on my wife's 70 Barracuda using a pair of old 3/4 ton Dodge truck shocks. It's a low buck affair until I can get the CalTracs and Monoleafs on the car, but it has a pretty healthy stance the way it is right now.

They make some coil over shocks, or the cheap route is you can buy the coils in a kit and clamp them to your shocks. Will give left in the back but will ride like an empty 3/4 ton pickup.

Find a spring shop and have them recurve the springs to the height you want.
