71 B body front suspension

I'm doing a complete resto-mod on my '71 Charger. The supports that went from the top of the shock tower to the firewall are totally rotted.

What have people replaced these with?

Is there a structural advantage to going with tubes over square stock?

What advantage if any would there be to continuing the support all the way to the front of the frame rail?

The car is going to mainly be a street cruiser. At some point I'd like to go to some East Coast standing mile events.

I believe XV Motorsports makes a tube setup that runs from the firewall to the front frame rail with connections at the shock tower. It's a weld-on deal, and not a minor operation, IIRC.

Thanks, I've seen that one. I don't understand why they keep the top brace while adding this one. Triangular shapes are very stable so that may be why they're keeping it.

I've looked into the square vs round tubing and from what I've found the only diff is about 10% less weight for a round tube with equivalent surface area. I'm going to go with square tubing since I don't have the tools to work with round tubing and I'm not that concerned about the weight diff.
