Can someone give me a measurement from the back edge of a challenger hood to the 340 fourbarrel emblems.I am trying to locate them in the factory position on a goodmark hood with no holes. Thanks

It looks like you got your answer so I hope you don't mind if I hijack your thread but has anyone seen the Challenger 340 4 Barrel hood decals? Back in 1981 I had a A66 Challenger 340 convertible. Then another A66 car came up for sale nearby and I picked it up for $200. It was an original hemi orange hardtop with all original paint. When I went to pick it up I was surprised to see the same exact 340 4 barrel callouts on the bulge hood except they were in decal form and were original!!! I had seen many 340 Challengers including the 72-73s but they always had emblems. I had never seen a decal before and haven't seen them since. Has anyone else?

Would these be the same locations for the 426 Hemi emblems also, or are these different?

I had an early 70 340 car with the hood decals.
What I had heard was that Chrysler originally wasn't going to put 340 emblems on and then reconsidered. The hood had no holes, just the decal.
Also, both this car, and another 70 340 car I had, had orange plates in the scoop. I still have one of the plates. The orange is not over black paint, so someone could have stripped the black off before painting it, but it sure looks original.
