URGENT broken down in tennessee

Installing a new flasher. All of a sdden car won't start will run with key all the way on but not without. Ignition possibly?Please call with any suggestions! 617 935 1705

I'd un-do what you did and get it home

Check for power from the ballast resistor with the key in the run position.

nothing to undo just changed flasher.

check for spark at the plugs

Noo power at ballist resistor

no power at distributer either

the resiter on the firewall is bad, usually above the wiper motor or to the left of it looking at the engine from the front, make a little jumper wire to get the car started and replace asap,

Blown ballast resistor. Check again, with the key in the run position you should have power on one side but not the other (with a blown ballast). Better yet, check it with an ohm meter - it should have resistance - if the meter shows no movement then the ballast is toast.

Probably totally unrelated to the flasher, just coincidence.

Assuming your ballast resistor is still good-Unplug the two wire connector from the BA and jump power from the battery there. You could get home like that.
If the BA is bad, jump to the coil. That'll be good enough to get you to a parts store for a new BA.

Assume you started @ the fuse box and all ignition related fuses are good?

Bue/white wire ign wire out of the firewall bulkhead. Push/wiggle check for power with key on.

I had a 69 charger that died at the beer store. It was the factory amp gauge. I hot wired it to get it home then just bypassed it. The entire car died...no nothing.

blue/white has power hot wire from batt tocoil still nothing

I had the fuseable link burn once so I just hot wired the car. I ran a wire from the battery to the resitor block. It was just that simple. Also might wanna discconect the power side of the block just incase there is a short there. Good luck

I just got a call, he found the issue.

Apparently he replaced a coil recently and crossed a wire which blew a ballast.

Advance had one and he is on his way.
