no juice to anything 1970 super bee

hey guys here is what is up.i drove my bee friday night all was well.i went to get it to take my son to the baseball game and i have nothing.no light no dome light nothing at all.it is completly dead.what gives i tryed a different battery and still nothing.i think there is a wire that goes into the bulkhead that is the main power souce.does anyone have a diagram of the bulkhead.please help i want my baby back.

Sounds like you burned out your fusible link. Do yourself a favor and get rid of it all together. Buy some fusible wire from your local auto parts store, and bypass the fusible link. Every Charger I have had has had this issue! Just drill out the hole in the bulkhead connector, and run it straight to your dash. I have never had a problem after that.

ok but where is the fusible link.i thought when i rewrapped the harness years ago i didnt see any.are you talking about on the inside of the car?

The fusible link runs from your starter relay, where the positive cable from the battery comes in, up to the middle wiring block on your bulhead connector. Should be the middle harness, top right connector. Follow it from your relay into your wiring harness. They are made to burn out, to save you from a engine bay or dash fire. If you have not replaced it, I would bet thats your problem. You can bypass it, like I mentioned, or rewire a fresh fusible link or fusible wire back into the bulkhead connector, but my issues with these have always been failure at the actual bulkhead connector. I always drill them out and run fresh wire.

It's true the fusible link could have opened, but be very careful bypassing it. The guy who owned my Challenger before me bypassed the link without knowing why it blew. There was a dash fire and the car basically had no wiring when I bought it. Actually it was all still there-in a puddle on the floor board.
That link keeps things from REALLY going bad...

If the fusible link is open do make a good visual inspection to see if a high current draw downstream from it made it go open(look for anything burnt)& correct what you find

does anyone have a diagram of the bulkhead connectors to see were everything goes.i think its a burnt wire but to find it is going to be a itch,

Check the red wire in the bottom plug.Happens to me all the time.I just push mine in,and look at the dome light,when it comes on you know you are good.My clips are broke on the plugs.

Also check the 10 gauge wire coming off the battery .Worked on a chevy last week same problem found out that wire had shorted out. From battery to starter relay on firewall on mopars

i know i have juice to the starter relay because i can jump the terminals to turn the starter over bulkhead diagram anyone?

I'm not 100% sure but I'm thinking it's your amp gauge that burned up. Everything other than the starter is powered through it. As a quick fix you can just remove the 2 wires from the back of the gauge and splice or bolt them together.

this happened to my 69 rr i had, the wire to the amp gauge came loose, tightened back up, started right up

lets hope not it was working ok friday night so i really think it is the wiring.

I agree check the fusiable link with a test light.Then check the bulk head connector.In my opinion dump the amp meter.They are just a disaster waiting to happen.That and like Ive said a thousand times on here buy a factory manual.Still cant believe all the people that own cars wont spring 50 bucks or less for a manual.Rocky
