Please Help- Need Spark Arrestor for 1978 360 Motorhome

My friend has a 1978 Dodge Motorhome with the 360 Engine. The MH is broke down in the center of his driveway and he needs a spark arrestor (for the ignition system) for it. He has been told that the part was only made for 74-79 and is not available. Basically, he was told GOOD LUCK by the dealerships that he called. Can anyone help out with where I might refer him to. What's a spark arrestor? I thought those were the things on dirt bike tail pipes to keep from causing fires.

A S A for a engine in an RV ? .. NOT needed unless you do not have a tail-pipe. Now for a generator ? ... that is a diff story.

Electronic Control Unit? Ballast Resistor, coil? Everything else is in the distributor, so to speak. It's probably the ECU or the ballast...post a pic or description of it here - what does the old one look like?

I am not sure what a spark arrester is doing on a 360 in a motor home but if it comes down to it, you can drop in a point dist and hook it directly to the battery hot side and bingo you are running. And as long as you put the new point dizzy in the same time as the old electronic one, you dont even need to change the wires in the cap.
