comparing the total duration to the .050 duration, looks like a slow rate of lift cam. probably an older grind. There are probably better choices out there for you i think. As far as sound goes, with those .050 numbers and the 112 LSA ,would probably have only the slightest bit of lope. your torque convertor and rear gear is critical in determining the proper cam choice.

i'm not an expert on cams, but i'd suggest downloading camquest to get an idea. i'm going with the XE 268 for my 440. this is one of Comps most popular grinds, as it works with the stock converter, has some lope to it (according to them - there are also vids of 400 GTOs, 454 chevelles, etc. that are big blocks with some lope)...it also made the best average HP/TQ numbers for my combination - a little hotter cam may be the XE27?HL or the Lunati Voodoo 60303

That's a dirty cam...very lazy. I recommend Comps XE275HL. It'll want a tad more converter than stock, like 2500-2600.
That cam is 231-237@ .050 with .525 lift on 110lca. I would advance it 5° if you can.
It sounds good and pulls hard.

What converter are you running ?? I use the MP .557 solid in the mild 906 headed 440 in my 63. I love it and I run 10.0 comp with quench as the pistons are the KB quench pad units. It has a Dynamic 9.5 street/strip converter that drives great and flashes about 4200 at the track. I drive it on the street and only adjust the valves once a year. Ron

looks like the Summit 224-234 465-488 cam to me... I ran one in a very mild 440 in a 67 coronet to 12.90's. Sounds like a good choice to me.

Crower has a great cam with the same duration but more lift..Num 32242 with 488/494 lift and a 112 lsa (install it +4 ) works good in a 440 or the 32243 with a bit more duration, both great cams for street cars. Im using the 32243 in my 71 Charger R/T and it runs 12s with stock converter and 355 gears. The Comp cam above is also a great cam.

I'm going to be running the one smaller than that one from Summit myself.

I guess there's quiet a few here running Summit cams.

I had a very similar combo with 9.5:1 CR, 452 stock heads, stock intake and 2500 stall convertor.

I used the .528 MP cam.

Very slight lope, great low end punch, and pulled well past 6k.

In a heavy street car with 3.23 gears the car would do 104 mph in the 1/4 mile.

Want a little more lope and have a bigger converter then the .557 might be your best bet.
