Unless it a 440 for marine application and set for reverse-rotation like in a dual engine set-up,then one would be counter-clockwise

it will rotate in either direction but when running it should spin clockwise if you are looking at the crank

hahah no I mean you can spin it by hand backwards..it will rotate...I guess it was a bad joke.
