IIRC fel-pro intake gasket 1213 has the heat cross over block and is a good gasket
most likly it will burn through later on,which all of mine did
I used some thin tin and cut a peice and rounded the ends and rtv them in place on the head, then installed the gaskets and intake
I use rtv in the corners good and use the end gaskets my self, torquing the intake down slowly and not let the gasket slide out on the ends, kinda feel/push on it with my fingers as it torques down...but thats me
I do recomend that you let it sit over night and let the rtv cure 24hrs before running the engine to prevent leaks
I trimed the metal heat blockoff to fit over the port only and left the 1/2 moon looking part open to disapate the heat there, cant even tell its blocked by looking
I also use a 1/2"-4-hole stacked plate insulating spacer under the carb on my performer intake, gasket, metal plate, gasket, plat, gasket, plate ...ect..even had it stack to 1" high also
I have used the 3/8" fiber composite carb insulater gasket from eddybroke with good results to keep the eddy carb cool,it does not take much heat to perk the gas in them now days
the composite gasket kinda went south after 2-3 yrs and was swelling and feathering on the side going into the plenum of itake..so I went with the stacked 4-hole plates
