Question about a transmission mount

Can anyone tell me what the extra bracket on this trans mount is for? The one on the car now doesn’t have it. 1973 Satellite 400/727.

I believe that bracket was used on later A bodies with Cat and maybe others

Mounts the catalytic converter heat shields.

You could remove the bracket. The harder thing to find is a quality mount as the worst seem to be made in India. Also check/compare the height and mounting of the new one VS the old one. I have gotten them where they were off quite a bit.
