A little something I picked up last week

A little something I picked up last week - 01/13/24 11:07 PM

Been planning on this for a long time. Had even bought an original in summer '22 but the specs weren't quite what I wanted so sold that one. I did a lot of price research and since I'm in Canada, shipping was going to be a big expense. As it so happens Bears Performance is a Canadian Strange dealer and they're virtually "in my backyard". So right off the bat I was able to save about $450 (Can. $) in shipping. If I'd ordered it from a U.S. source I'd have had to to pay a U.S. state tax to wherever it was shipped as well as (probably) Canadian tax when I picked it up and brought it home. In the end, all in, I paid less than any U.S. source. Unusual but since these units are built "in house" I'm actually paying the Canadian labour rate and not the U.S. rate with exchange tacked on.

Strange Dana 60 - 1/2" shorter per side
Eaton Tru trac, 3.54 gear, green bearings
35 spline axles,, 2" studs
my backing plates, welded perches
S60 aluminum cover
1350 yoke
driveshaft shorten and 1350 weld yoke
new u-joints

Very nice! I hope to have one in my Duster one day. The motor in it now can't hurt my 8 3/4 so I have time.

Great score. I love my Dana. It handles all the power my 440 can give it.
