1979 D150 fan switch

1979 D150 fan switch - 11/13/23 09:35 PM

The fan switch in my truck decided it no longer wants to work. It will work, on high speed only, when you switch it to A/C or heat, but you cannot control it from the switch.

I have been looking around to see if I can just replace the fan switch without replacing the whole thing, but no luck.

Suggestions or tips please.

The blower resistor may be bad. Pretty common I believe

I would check to see if your Anodized Babbitt battery bearings are going bad, If so changing the resistor will be fruitless 🤪

Ive had many of them pretty much had to replace the switch in all of them.Seems they cant take the current and after years they go kaput.Same with the amp gauge.Every one Ive had with it Ive done away with them.Install a volt meter.Easy to do just remove the 2 wires and I would screw them together and then tape up.Two of minbe would actually stop and lose power when I plowed Then after eliminating the gauge no problem
