Yes or no? If yes, should I use red or blue? Thanks!

x2 I've used blue since i thought i had red, but didn't. Haven't had any problems, but red is the preferred.

What if I ever want to swap my converter for a different one? Will I have to break out the torch to get the bolts off with the red?

I have never used locktite on convertor bolts (or even flexplate bolts). I guess it can't hurt anything using it. I seem to have good luck with fine thread fasteners staying tight. Anything coarse thread is another story....

I've never had a problem loosening them back up actually. Red or blue. They aren't torqued to a very tight spec to begin with.

270in/lb actually, which is about 22ft/lbs. Not much.

I have used red and never needed a torch to get them out

I use red and also have never had to torch them..

Every time I tried to not use locktite, they came loose...

I used Red on my clutch--flywheel to crank and pressure plate to flywheel. cheap impact from autozone hit a few times, then zipped the bolts right out.

going back in, they were a bit gummy, so it couldn't hurt to chase the threads when you pull the stuff apart.

If parts are new or have little to no wear on the
threads use blue. If the parts are used and the threads are a little loose use red.

Red is too aggressive. Sometimes you gotta use heat to get stuff appart with red. Even seen it rip up the threads. Red is for "never taking it appart again".

I used Red just the other day when mounting my Flex Plate to the Crank. As for the Torque Converter Bolts, most likely I will just go with the correct Torque specs and then a little extra "Armstrong" to seat it well. This is all brand new parts going into my rebuild so an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure....

Unless you want them to back out.. I've used both in the past...I think I used Red on the current build.

Personally I used loctite red on mine but I only use a small amount. I have had the t/c bolts come loose before and it made one heck of a noise.

I also had the bolts work loose. Avoid the mess with loctite.

Yes,
One drop of red is all it takes, dont drown them or they really may not come out..
