Ballast Resistor Question

I have a 72 Cuda 340 and I'm burning through ballast resistors all of a sudden. We've done a bunch of troubleshooting, but my question is, are there different ballast resistors for points as opposed to electronic ignition? Or are they the same regardless.

They are different depending on a number of variables including the coil itself. If this just started with no other changes being made I suspect your issue maybe elsewhere. More info needed on your combination
