dual exhaust for 71 barracuda - 02/21/23 03:50 AM

I have a 318 barracuda and want to change from single to dual exhaust. Will the system for a 340 fit? Or is there a supplier that has a complete system for the 318. I don't know if the 318 and 340 exhaust manifolds are the same. Thanks for the info help.

318 and 340 exhaust manifolds are completely different. Just go to a local muffler shop and have a system made, probably cheaper than a complete aftermarket system anyway. I was at my local shop today, they will bend up anything I want made... twocents

Or you could go all the way, and put the 340 manifolds on your 318

Nah, if he went all the way he'd put a 340 in place of his 318.

A few thing to look at.

It's very common for these cars to have non original and mismatched exhaust manifolds.

I would confirm what manifolds you have by the part/casting numbers or post a few pics.

My 73 E body has a 69 A body manifold on the drivers side.

Another thought.

If the price is right you could just buy a 340/??? set and have a local shop cut the flanges off and replace them if they don't fit your manifolds. Once the pipes turn back towards the rear they are all pretty much the same.

For me the price would have to be pretty cheap to buy a new pipe and slice it up but I have had to do it before.
