help finding Steering Column Linkage Bushing - 09/06/22 01:29 PM

I'm working on a 74 Ramcharger, the original steering column was trashed due to someone hammering on an 80's truck steering wheel onto the shaft so I replaced the entire column with one out of a truck a friend had in his bone yard. The donor truck didn't have enough identifiable parts on it to know exact what year model it was, but it was the same column as I had, and I think the truck was a 72-75 also.

What's confusing me about finding a bushing is that the one in my Ramcharger is black, has a bushing in it, and I cannot find one on any parts or restoration site that looks the same. Are the white one's the replacements? My 70 Coronet R/T console car has the same bushing, but I can't find a listing for it anywhere. The 4th attachment is the bushing on the column of my 70 R/T which is the same as the Ramcharger.

I'll agree and not trying to be offensive in any way smile but you paid it which tells the seller his pricing is OK. From his viewpoint: He researched and located the grommet and bushing, put them together, put the listing up, packages and ships them, pays the fees, likely gets a 1099 thanks to Uncle Joe, has to pay $ to his tax guy for processing the 1099. net profit ? not much when you look at it that way unless he's selling 500- thousand a year

Myself I would've made the entire bushing out of delrin or maybe included the oilite sleeve/bearing as well. With todays rubber the grommet may be short lived beer
