Wife called, Van wont start FIXED - 04/10/09 12:38 PM

It's a 91 B 250 318 TBI. It cranks but has no spark and no fuel. I have not yet put my noid light on it but I would imagine that I would see no pulse if I had. The last time this happened it was the shutdown relay and the time before that it was the pick up in the dist. I replaced the pick up and still no start.

I can feel the relay click and feel the vibration difference in the tank when the pump turns on and off.

I also put a test light on the coil and get nothing there.

Any ideas.

Sounds like you are on the right path. Just follow the factory No Start diagnostics start to finish.

I had quite a few coils go bad on those.More than I care to mention.Rocky

Thought it was the magnums with the frequent coil failures...

I thought coil to but I don't think that would kill the signal to the injectos and I would be seeing some fuel spraying.

I don't think it's getting an input signal to either the coil or the injectors.

Having had fleet of them over the years change the coil even if that not the problem if its original it will be sooner or later

The modular style that mounted up in front of the motor were common for failure.

My bets are on the distributor pickup. No signal equals no spart or fuel pump running.

That was my first thought. Put in a new one and no luck.

Fixed

Auto shut down relay again. And it wasn't even that old
