had a water leak from the 3rd brake light and now the carpet is wetso i want to dry it. can i remove the pass seat by itself or does the whole seat have to come out? can i unhook the wiring harness or does the battery have to be disconnected? thanks

Apples and oranges, but maybe not.
The seat bottoms on my 2001 Ram are held in by 4 bolts. Look closely under your seat to see if yours are held in similarly. A couple on mine are hard to see, so look closely.

EDIT: Detroit Muscle Technologies was making replacement gaskets for those 3rd brake light. He's a sponsor here.

not sure about yours, but becareful, if it has airbags in the seats, you can do it with the car off, but do not turn the truck back on till you plug the seat back in.
it trips a airbag light you cannot clear with a regular code reader.

i was wondering if anybody made a gasket, but i went ahead and bought the new light anyway, it was $65 which was a lot cheaper than i thought it would be.

You can remove just the passenger side. It is easier to just undo the whole seat and take it out unless you don't have help.
