The odds are it still had an 8 3/4 in 69, but once it got into the early 70s, the odds got smaller. By late 72, there were probably better odds it had an 8 1/4 then an 8 3/4. I believe 74 was the last car production 8 3/4. Choices were 7 1/4, 8 1/4 or 9 1/4 after 74. I had a 72 Satellite Sebring Plus 2 door 318, it had a 904 and an 8 1/4. Gene
i think pickup and van last had 8 3/4's around 74 as well. i don't recall any 75 & up, including 4x4's, having 8 3/4's. my brother had a 72 sebring plus with a 400/727 that had an 8 3/4 rear, while my sister had an almost identical 73 sebring plus with a 318/904 that had an 8 1/4 rear.
In 69 they started putting 8 1/4's in B Bodies with 318 auto setups unless it had some type of axle upgrade option, if it was a 318 with manual trans I believe it would have had an 8 3/4 axle as standard.
I saw a non 8 3/4 rear end in a slant six automatic1970 Charger in 1972 or 1973, it had the removeable inspection plate like the 7 1/4 and 8 1/4 had, I didn't know about the 8 1/4 rear ends then and ASSUME it was a 7 1/4 Please take this for what it is worth, not much Never say Mopar never did that
