Need 440 crank snount dimensions

Need 440 crank snount dimensions - 06/09/21 01:02 PM

Can somebody check a big block Chrysler crankshaft dimension for me?

This picture is my Callies 4.500" crankshaft. I am interested in comparing the 2.150" dia dimension to other's crankshafts.
It would be nice to check a factory 440 or 383 crankshaft, an Eagle, Ohio Crankshaft, etc.

I don't need an exact measurement accurate to 0.001", even within 0.010" would be useful to see if manufacturers are making this section different.

Thanks in advance,
Jim

A local friend of mine checked his factory 440 crankshaft for me this morning, that dimension was about 2.01x"

More brands would be interesting to see.
I am surprised that several 440 factory cranks are 2.0x" and that old Chrysler 300 383 CID crank has the big 2.15x" number!

I have six BB cranks, all are close to the smaller 2.0xx" dimension. Since that part of the crank doesn't have anything mounted on it, I'm not surprised that the dimension varies.

John,
Are all the ones you checked factory Chrysler cranks?
Or are any Eagle, Scat, etc.

Thanks guys, Keep them coming.

I want to see if any manufacturer other than Callies is using the 2.150" dimension.

It looks like Chrysler was using the 2.0xx dimension for most. One data point on the '64 383 CID engine using the large dimension.

Nice set of replies.
We are getting feedback on many of the popular aftermarket crankshafts. And several are using the larger 2.15" OD dimension.

I can get you what I have next time I am in Vegas. As I have a Crower, Eagle, K1 and Bryant there but that's gonna be a couple months.
