4 spd clutch fork

4 spd clutch fork - 04/09/05 05:11 AM

A friend gave me a shift fork that he thinks is for a b body but he's not sure. There is no part numbers that I can find but I have attached a pic. I am getting ready to install a 833 in my '69 Coronet 500.

Who can tell me what this will fit?

the length of the fork tells you what it fits the hemi (large flywheel) is 12.5 inches overall length. I have spare bell and fork for the 10.5 flywheel.

Last week when installing clutch in my Roadrunner I talked to Brewers about fork length. He mentioned forks with sloted hole in the end were E- bodys. You may want to call them to be sure. They can answer any four speed question and have almost anything needed for manual cars.

what enegine size and whats the part number of the bellhouing being used .

the big blocks used the short fork , for the most part , and small blocks used the long fork , that looks like the smallblock fork used with at least the 70's alum bell

The fork for SB and BB E/B bodies is the same. Like 10.75" The long forks, I'm pretty sure are for A bodies.

I was going with a 440 in this car. I don't know what kind of bellhousing I have right now. I need to figure out how to do that (see my other post regarding flywheel size).

Looks like I have the wrong fork.

Thanks for the help.

According to the factory parts book the choice of fork depends on the body, not the motor.

Anyone have a fork for a 69 B body with a big block laying around? If so, can you measure/compare to the one in the pic I posted?

Thanks.

Looks to be about 10.5 inches.
