Raybestos transmission bands - are these OK?

Raybestos transmission bands - are these OK? - 04/01/09 01:42 PM

I just received new front and rear bands for my A999. They are new, made by Raybestos. The lining material doesn't look very thick! The new linings look thinner than the old bands' linings. Are these going to be OK for my application? 360, mild, street driven car (325 hp?) 74 Scamp. Or should I send them back?

Thanks very much.

Raybestos is good stuff. A lot of replacement bands are made lighter and thinner than OE ones were.

Raybestos has been in business before I was born, and I'm 60

My heart felt thanks to everyone. Yeah, I know Raybestos has been around for a loooooooong time, and I was hoping they'd be just fine.

You have all calmed my fears, and I thank you very much.

Sincerely,

Dave

Borg Warner is still the supplier to Chrysler for the new transmissions, they have a lot of research in the material and methods to make them last.
