1969 engine block vin - 11/12/20 06:28 PM
It's always been my understanding in the early part of 1969 your engine block and transmission would have a full vin.# stamp.
If that aspect is true where would the cut-off to partial vin. be??? January or even sooner?
Would an October build have the full vin. stamp?
Thanks Ron

the change from full VIN to partial VIN appears during the month of January 1969
an October car should have the full VIN stamped on engine & transmission

I know of a 2/12/69 St. Louis car, entirely #s matching, block # starts with 9G.

My car was is a. 1969 sport satellite, 383 two barrel, single exhaust.
The block is a 69 non HP block but the numbers are just a little over 200 digits off from the VIN..... From what I read its the period correct engine but not the original engine.
The trans has a attached tag that reads "factory rebuilt".
