Ive heard disc brakes are a wider setup from wheel mounting surface to surface over drums. True? How much? 68 b body....

Seems to depend on what setup you use.
I used an aftermarket conversion on a '63 and it did widen the front track, about 3/4" each side.
The all-Mopar conversion on my '68 RR seems same as drums but haven't measured it.

yeah like scaredbird or similar conversions that use drum spindles, tend to push out the width.
stock should be the same.

The B-body swaps I've done using factory A-body spindles increased the track width 5/16" per side.
