The finish on the face to the dash was different. The 68 had thin vertical lines or ribes and the 1969 dash face was a like a "moulded pebble" finish. Here is a pic of the dash in a 68 Charger that I owned. In 1969 the SE package got you the wood-grain finish on the dash. As I recall there was no difference in the dash pads.

The TOP dash pad is different: '68 has kind of a blade, peaked in the center; '69-'70 got a more rounded/beveled face. I don't recall a lower pad difference '68 vs '69, but if so, it might be the simulated stitching.

I won't dispute it. I have to will admit that I never compared the two. Thanks for the correction...

It has been discuss a lot in the past, but the belief is that the 68 Chargers built in the 1st. half of the model year had the "bulls eye" emblem and the Chargers built in the 2nd half got the "Fratzog" (three pointed star) emblem.
