C body disc brakes on a challenger?

Hello brake/chassis guys. My 71 Challenger needs upper control arm bushings so I'm trying to decide what other work I should do while it's apart. Car still has manual 10" drum brakes (originally 318 car). Now has big block. I have 2 parts cars I would like to use parts from if possible: 77 Newport & 73 Coronet. Newport is power disc in the front. Coronet is manual disc in the front. I read in the tech section that only A body disc brakes will work on the e body. Is this completely true? I thought I've heard about using C body disc brakes for conversions before. Thanks for any advice!

The 73 Coronet setup will work, just swap the whole knuckle over onto your old ball joints. The C body stuff is completely different.

while it is true, c body stuff is different, by 77 the newport was not a c-body. It could be an m-body in which case it would work, but would be slightly different. The coronet is closer.

Newport was still a C body in '77. In '79 Newport became an R body which is a stretched late B. In Mexico there was an M body Chrysler Newport but that wasn't until the 80's.

Also, '73 up B body knuckles are actually the same as F/M/J/R body stuff. They work fine on earlier cars they're just 3/8 taller to compensate for the rubber isolated K frame.
