Question about K-frame-to-motor-mount bolts - 01/26/19 08:32 AM

Hi all,

The holes in the K-frame that the motor mounts bolt to are about 5/8" in diameter, whereas the bolts themselves are only about 3/8". This seems pretty sloppy to me - is there a bushing or something that's supposed to go in there? There was nothing in the holes when I pulled the motor 2-1/2 years ago. Thanks for any advice.

Roger

Nothing of the sort. The mounts sit down on the pads of the K frame. Then the bolts go in to secure the mounts. Sometimes the bolts won't line up and you have to move/rock the engine slightly or move the trans tail left or right to get the bolts in and threads started. That why the holes are larger.

And the bolts are stout enough at 7/16".
